Fall is in the air and PRIME Cruising Season is upon us!

 

October &amp; November are both excellent months to be on the water.  Best of all, mild days and cool nights mean you won’t need a noisy generator, air conditioning or bug spray.  All you need is a plan, a boat (yours or a friend&#039;s will do), a place to go and a little time. 

 

Here&#039;s the plan and the place…..get the boat and find a little time to join us!

 

*	Lost Bay Regatta is the weekend of October 9th &amp; 10th. 

	*	Suggested schedule 

		*	Friday October 8th - Travel to Pirates Cove anchor at the cove or get a slip at Bear Point or Barber Marinas 
		*	Saturday October 9th 

			*	Skipper’s Meeting 11:00 AM at the Pirates Cove Pavilion 
			*	The starting signals at 12:30 PM 
			*	Award Ceremony will be held at The Point Yacht Club pavilion at Barber Marina following the Race 
			*	Party at Barber Marina or return to Pirates Cove your choice 

		*	Sunday October 10th Travel to your home port or stay as long as you wish 

 

*	Thanksgiving Cruise 

	*	Wednesday November 24th 

		*	MYC Harbor 

	*	Thursday November 25th 

		*	Depart Sunrise for Ingram’s Bayou 
		*	Cocktails &amp; hors d’oeuvres

23rd Lost Bay Regatta

 

October 9th

 

This is a great opportunity to cruise to Pirates Cove, Bear Point, Ingram’s Bayou or Perdido Bay the weekend of October 9th &amp; 10th. You and your crew can make this a fun race or enjoy the waters and party at one of the Gulf Coast’s most enjoyable sailing venues. Make you plans soon to reserve a slip or anchor out.

 

Open to mono-hull sailboats 20 feet or greater length overall with a valid GYA-PHRF rating. Provisional ratings may be assigned at the discretion of the Race Committee. The race will be governed by the Racing Rules of Sailing including US Sailing, Gulf Yachting Association, and PHRF prescriptions, by the Notice of Regatta, and by the Sailing Instructions.

Course Location: Perdido Bay, North of Innerarity Point. Course to be set the day of the race.

 

Registration: Advance registration by mail. On site registration 12:00 PM to7:00 PM, Friday, October 8, 2010 at Pirates Cove Pavilion. Boats may be registered on Saturday from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at Pirates Cove Pavilion.         

 

Skipper’s Meeting:  11:00 AM Saturday October 9, 2010 at the Pirates Cove Pavilion.

 

Warning Signal: 12:30 PM for the first Division of the Spinnaker Class. The starting signal for each division will serve as the warning signal for each subsequent division. The starting signal for the last division of the Spinnaker Class will serve as the warning signal for the first division of the Non-spinnaker Class. The starting signal for each division will serve as the warning signal for each subsequent division.

 

Classes: Spinnaker and Non-Spinnaker. Each class will be split into divisions. Divisions will be determined based upon the number of entries in the Regatta. Trophies will be awarded in each Division and overall in each Class.

 

Entry Fee:         The entry fee will be $40.00 for on site registration or $35.00 for advance registration by mail prior to October 4, 2010.

 

Award Ceremony: An award ceremony will be held at The Point Yacht Club pavilion at Barber Marina following the Race.
